Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Steadfast Life mobile application and any related web services (collectively, the "Service") provided by SteadfastChat ("we," "our," or "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement. The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly allow them to create accounts.

2. Invite-Only Access

The Service is currently invite-only. You may only create an account using a valid invite code provided by your mentor. Invite codes are personal, non-transferable, and may not be shared. We reserve the right to revoke access if an invite code is misused.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for:

• Providing accurate and complete information when registering
• Keeping your password confidential
• All activity that occurs under your account

4. Use of the Service

You agree to use the Service only for its intended purpose: communicating with your mentor or clients and tracking personal habits and goals. You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Harass, threaten, or harm other users
• Impersonate any person or entity
• Transmit spam, malware, or harmful content
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the Service
• Use the Service to provide competing services

5. Mentor-Client Relationship

The Service is a communication and habit-tracking platform. SteadfastChat is not a licensed healthcare, therapy, counseling, financial, or legal services provider. Mentors on this platform are not acting as licensed professionals unless they have disclosed otherwise directly to you. Nothing communicated through the Service constitutes professional advice. You are solely responsible for decisions you make based on conversations or information within the Service.

6. Content

You retain ownership of content you submit (messages, habit data, profile information). By submitting content, you grant us a limited license to store, transmit, and display it solely to operate the Service. You represent that your content does not violate any third-party rights or applicable laws.

We do not actively monitor private messages between users, but we reserve the right to remove content or suspend accounts that violate these Terms.

7. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

8. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third-party providers including Supabase (database and authentication), Stream Chat (messaging), and Expo (push notifications). Your use of the Service is also subject to their applicable terms and policies.

9. Intellectual Property

All software, design, trademarks, and content comprising the Service (excluding user-submitted content) are owned by SteadfastChat or its licensors. Nothing in these Terms grants you a right to use our trademarks or branding.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, STEADFASTCHAT SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED $100.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. You may stop using the Service at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this document. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts located in Texas.
